Here are some film stills from a recent computer generated DVD video (2007). It is an hour long saga of stuff. This stuff exists at 3 levels: underlying data (pure information), a possible translation, and a possible conceptual realization. The possible meaning of each picture is 'signatured' or 'keyed' by a combination of pictoral and language based abstractions. This general meaning might be considered to be some dada-like confusion, or it might be considered to be a simple useful construct. I'm not sure, to be honest, its not for me to decide.
Another agenda of mine by putting some stills online, is to convert the video into digital 'spam art'. When the video is shown normally, the information spamming is retinal only (analog?). But here, that same information is now indexable, archivable, searchable digital text. The stills are partly comprised of an algorithmic dictionary dump (the text portion). By posting to the Internet the still images along with their embedded text, I hope to drag in a few search engine surfers who happen to be searching for those words.
