The Screen Burns are an ongoing series which started in 2005. First, a vintage computer is salvaged. Then the machine must be prepped for its final mission. Hardware components are repaired/replaced, and any required software disks are obtained and installed. Because of the computer's age and scarcity of hardware/software, this could be a lengthy task. A custom software program is then written for the particular vintage computer. This program will display static white information on the screen, just whatever design meets my fancy. The program runs continually, 24 hours a day, for 6 to 12 months. The image is eventually burnt onto the screen, permanently.
